The image on the left is what ithe arrows are supposed to look like in Indesign and the one on the right is what happens to the teal arrows when its in PDF form. Mac PPT, as far as I know, relies on the print to the (free) PDF feature built into MacOS, which isn't as flexible or sophisticated as Adobe's (paid for) product and doesn't give the Mac Office developers the degree of control that the Windows folks have, So Preview does not have this feature, but more on that in a moment.

I'm betting that it has to do with transparency in gradients, which appears to be what you're using here, Nick (please correct me if that's not the case). I suspect this problem is related to the one reported in a different discussion: Select both the photo and the shape with transparency, copy/paste them to a new slide as PNG or JPG, or at least as some kind of raster format.Įxport the slide to PNG/JPG/etc, then insert the exported image onto a new slide.Įither method flattens the transparency and preserves the effect in a single image, which will print the way you expect it to rather than relying on the creaky PDF-making apparatus to have enough steam to carry the job out properly.
